Clean the corona wire

  • Press the release button of the printer before you open the cover.
  • Take away the drum and toner cartridge unit assembly. Keep in mind that these are very hot parts. So wait before the printer gets cooled and then take them out.
  • Clean the corona wire of the unit. Move the green tab from one to the other end a few times. Never clean this wire or any other printer part with a cleaning substance having ammonia or alcohol. It can cause an electrical shock.
  • Move the green tab to its initial position.
  • Place the components in the Brother printing device and close its front cover.

 

Replace the printer toner.

Replacing the toner can also help you get rid of the printer drum error. Follow these steps for replacing it.


  • Let your Brother printer get cool for 10 minutes before you begin cleaning. 
  • Hit the Release button of the printer for the front cover of the machine before you open the cover.
  • Take away the drum and toner cartridge assembly.
  • Hold down the lock lever to take away the cartridge from the drum unit. 
  • Place the old toner cartridge into a sealed bag. 
  • Take the new cartridge out and hold the toner cartridge level. Start to shake it several times from side to side. It will allow the toner to spread evenly in the cartridge. 
  • Take away the protective cover of the cartridge. Now install it into your drum unit. 
  • Wipe the main corona wire through the technique described earlier. 
  • Put the drum unit assembly and the toner cartridge into your printing device and close its front cover.

 

Replace the drum

This error can also be resolved by replacing the drum. For doing it, press the release button before you open the cover. Then do the following.

  • Remove the toner cartridge and the drum from the printer.
  • Press down the lock lever to take away the cartridge.
  • Place the old drum unit in a sealed bag and take the new drum from its packaging. 
  • Install the cartridge in the new drum unit. Check that it is locked.
  • Keep the cartridge and the drum assembly into your Brother printer.
  • Reset the drum counter of your printing device.
