Why do I get the error Brother printer is not connected?

Once the Brother printer is connected to the wireless network, it will save those configurations. Thus, anytime you reboot the printer in the future, it will automatically reconnect to that network.

However, my Brother's printer sometimes fails to connect to the Wi-Fi and displays the error Brother printer is not connected. When the user attempts to manually connect it to the wireless network, the Wi-Fi configuration fails to establish a network connection.

 

Why is my Brother printer not connecting to the network?

In general, the Brother printer is unable to connect to the WIFI network due to an improper WIFI security setting or a signal strength problem. Additionally, there may be a variety of additional causes for Brother printer not connecting. These causes of Brother printer is not connected to network are as follows:

• The printer is located over eight meters from the router.
• The network configuration is wrong.
• The wireless password is ineffective.
• The issue with the printer's firmware.
• Brother printer is unable to connect to the wireless network due to the issue with the router's firmware.

 

How to fix the issue of Brother printer not connecting to the network?

Follow the below techniques to fix the issue of the Brother printer is not connected to network error.

Technique 1 - Reboot the devices: 

• Power off the printer.
• Switch off the access point (router) as well.
• Now, turn on each gadget one by one.
• Once the printer returns to the home screen, let's attempt to rejoin it to the wireless network.

 

Technique 2 - Keep the printer in close proximity to the router

A standard WIFI router transmits signals within a 10-meter range. If the printer is located at a distance of more than 8 meters from the router, a low-quality router signal will be available.

In this scenario, the Brother printer will continue to disconnect from the wireless network. 

Hence, you must locate the printer close to the wireless access point (router) and rejoin it to the wireless network.

 

Technique 3 -  Reset the network configuration 

If your computer had previously connected to the WIFI network but would not reconnect after updating the router's wifi password. To resolve this problem, you must reset your network settings.

 

Technique 4  – Update the firmware of the printer

 

There is a possibility that the older printer has not been updated. 

If that is the case, you must check for firmware updates and update them. You may instantly update firmware files.
